A trip to the famous Dean's Blue Hole, the deepest natural hole in the world, is a must see and perfect for a refreshing swim. Long Island is a member of the Family Islands. It has a warm and unhurried feel. The islanders are laid back and friendly. The pace of life matches the fishing, “No problem mon”.

Flats FishingThe fishing around Stella Maris remains true to Bahamas fishing lore - outstanding! Large schools of bonefish roam the flats in the area. Bonefish, in the 2 to 4 lb. weight class are caught with regularity. Larger bonefish, up to 12 lbs, will make your reel sing and your heart pound. Variety is the spice of life and Long Island has lots of it. Snow white sand flats, ocean side deep water holes and man-made flats whose original purpose was manufacturing salt will keep you amused. After the salt business faded from the island, the flats were opened to the natural tides and the bonefish found a new home. Fish here range from 3 to 8 lbs and its not uncommon to fish to schools in the hundreds.

Stella Maris Deep Sea & Reef Fishing
Long Island offers hundreds of sites and all depths on the ocean and lee sides for a variety of boats for small or larger groups. Fishermen enjoy Stella Maris fishing year round due to the presence of a major current stream, the North Equatorial Current, which originates in the Canary Islands and washes the shores of Long Island, transporting huge schools of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Rainbow Runners, Yellow Fin Tuna, Black Fin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo.

These fish are caught year round with strong months as noted below:
- Yellow Fin Tuna: 50-150 lbs., April - May
- Dolphin: 10-90 lbs., March - June
- Wahoo: 10-90 lbs., September - November
- Rainbow Runners: 10-30 lbs., March - May
- Black Fin Tuna: 10-30 lbs., July - December

Stella Maris has a wide range of accommodations to meet most every need - hotel rooms to very comfortable bungalows to 5 bedroom beachfront houses. Stella Maris has 3 hotel pools, 7 hidden beach coves, and rooms and cottages scattered throughout the palm groves. All rooms come with air conditioning, patios, refrigerators, coffee and coffee makers.
Dining in their Clubhouse is available at their restaurant or bar/lounge. Dress: Informal, breakfast and lunchtime beachwear accepted in dining areas - swimsuit must be accompanied by T-shirt or similar.
At the resort's lounge, you will find pool, soccer, and hockey tables; in their meeting room, watch TV if you have to. There is ping-pong outside. And - yes - you can use your laptop around the clubhouse site, all day/all night, and it's free.
Kid Friendly
It's all so easy here: The Island is unspoiled – and simply everything is so safe. And isn't it nice, that the little ones, as well as teenagers, can be everywhere here, do everything that the adults do here? Yes – from snorkeling to diving – from kayaking to exploring, if you do it – and if Stella Maris offers it, they can do it.
At anytime, you and the children can play around the four swimming pools and three safe ocean lagoons. There are plenty of nearby baby-safe beaches and bays. Ping-pong, a TV room, a playground and low-cost baby-children-sitting are all available to you. Young ones at the resort may enjoy the Cave and Pool Parties as much as the adult visitors. Dads and Moms can safely leave the children in Stella's care if pursuing different day adventures.
Most of these actions are FREE of any costs at Stella Maris family resort. Stella Maris has extra-family-suitable accommodations to suit any family size, various family preferences and various family budgets. The lounge and bar and restaurant and beach pub offer great and very affordable kid’s meals.

Travel Information for Stella Maris Resort
Stella Maris Resort Air Service provides flights to Stella Maris, Long Island, Bahamas from Nassau, Great Exuma and other Bahamas islands for guests of our Bahamas resort. Charges are per seat or per charter. Flights to Stella Maris International Airport are routinely provided for Stella Maris Resort guests; and other island passengers on request.
Bahamas Airport Rates- Nassau/Stella Maris: $130 / one way
- Great Exuma/Stella Maris: $94 / one way
Fuel adjustments may apply in the event of sudden drastic fuel cost increases.
Charter Rates and Seat Rates for other routes available on request.Hotel arranged flights to the Stella Maris Airport are easily confirmed when you make your reservation. Flight bookings must be accompanied with all details of inbound and outbound flights. A form will be provided for you to reply by fax or e-mail. Flights are limited to daylight hours for Bahamas Out Islands airports. For example, you should be scheduled to arrive in Nassau by 2:00pm (3:00pm George Town) in order to connect through to Stella Maris Resort Club on the same day. Flying time from Nassau to Stella Maris Airport is 1 hour. From George Town to Stella Maris Airport the flight is 20 minutes. Since the Stella Maris Resort flight service is not scheduled service, sometimes waiting periods cannot be avoided. Whenever suitable, Stella Maris Resort arranged flights may be partially or totally replaced with regular airline, or commuter service. Your return flight home should be scheduled to depart Nassau or George Town no earlier than 10:30 am.
Deposit: 100% of one-way rate at time of booking; 50% of roundtrip rate at time of booking.
Cancellation: Two weeks prior to departure for full refund. No Show passengers forfeit deposit. Late arrival due to other airline service will not affect this policy.
Departure/Arrival taxes are not included in hotel arranged flight rates.
Luggage: Advise excess of 50# per person in advance. Please avoid packing large/hard suitcases.

Terms and Conditions for Stella Maris Resort
Once Castafly Travel, LLC receives a deposit or final payment for any type of trip, it is anacknowledgment and agreement by the client to all Terms and Conditions and Cancellation and Refund policies:
Non-refundable deposits and payment.
Your payment for a trip is non-refundable, regardless of the means for payment, be it credit card, cash or check.Deposits
Unless otherwise noted by the vendor,- 50% of the total package price per angler/trip package is due to Castafly Travel, LLC within 14 days of initial booking. This deposit will secure all reservations.
- The balance or full payment of package price per angler/trip package is due to Castafly Travel, LLC at least 90 days before first day of scheduled trip
- Castafly Travel, LLC reseves the right to charge a service fee of $100 for any changes to the reservation after initial booking.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Unless otherwised noted by the vendor,- All cancellations for any type of trip must be made in writing to Castafly Travel, LLC. Castafly Travel, LLC reserves the right to charge a service fee of $100 for any cancellations of any type of reservation.
- Cancellation outside of 90 days prior to scheduled departure – 90% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
- Cancellation between 60 and 90 days prior to scheduled departure - 70% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
- Cancellation between 30 and 60 days prior to scheduled departure – 60% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
- Cancellation 30 days or less prior to scheduled departure – No refund of deposit or final payment.
Trip cancellation insurance and evacuation insurance.
Because your deposit and other payment is non-refundable, Castafly Travel, LLC suggests you consider trip and medical evacuation insurance. This insurance is the best way to avoid losing your deposit due to unanticipated circumstances or emergencies. Because Castafly Travel, LLC has no ability to control your deposit onceit is forwarded to the respective lodge, outfitter, etc., we have developed a relationship with Sportsman’s Travel Insurance.
We also recommend trip evacuation/rescue insurance with Global Rescue, a medical and security evacuation service. We strongly urge to consider these types of insurance, be it with Sportsman’s Travel, Global Rescue, or some other trip and medical evacuation insurance company. A brochure for each company is included in your pre-trip planning package.
Castafly Travel, LLC is merely an agent.
Castafly Travel, LLC and its affiliated companies and agents act only as agents for contractors or owners and outfitters, hotels, airlines, shipowners, and charter air carriers providing means of transportation or other services. All tickets, vouchers and contracts of such hotels, airlines, outfitters, lodges, operators and owners are issued subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which such accommodations, means of transportation or other services are offered or provided, and the issuance and acceptance of any such tickets, vouchers and contracts shall be deemed to be consent to their further conditions.
Castafly Travel, LLC and any of its affiliated or associated companies or agents shall not be or become liable or responsible in any way in connection with such hotels or lodges, means of transportation or other services, or for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect to any person or property however caused or arising out of your vacation booked through our company.
Itinerary alterations.
Castafly Travel reserves the right to make such alterations in the itinerary as it deems in its discretion, necessary or desirable, to refuse to accept or retain as a member of the party any person at any time (in such case refund will be based on the actual cost of the unfinished portion of tour) and to pass on to tour clients expenditures caused by delays or offense beyond our control.
Cancellation.
Castafly Travel, LLC reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure, in which case full refund will constitute full settlement to the client.
